Good hotel on Alfama Hills with good breakfast & very good smiling kitchen staffs. Room is comfortable with modern facilities. Bathroom very comfortable, water flow excellent.. there's no wardrobe but we didn't feel its absence as there were hangers . Good breakfast. Everything breakfast menu changes. Variety in breakfast. Most important is that it's located near all the tourist attractions. When you are staying here, you can move on foot to mostly tourist locations. First day we felt a bit awkward because t in the street nearby the hotel you will find people watching you..

Before the scheduled stay at this hotel, staff of this hotel were communicating with me about the upcoming stay: they were asking when exactly I will arrive, will I need additional services etc., and, of course, I was answering to these questions. However, one day before the scheduled stay, my wife's family member died. We planned this trip together, so we canceled all flights and hotels in Portugal. I asked this hotel whether we could reschedule our stay or have some kind of refund, but this time the staff did not answer at all. It's been 7 days and still silence. All our flights were fully compensated, another hotel in Portugal offered us rescheduling our stay, but only this hotel has not even been in contact with us.

Decent hotel, but: poor service failure handling! Rooms: Smaller than expected, but clean. Location: Good for sight seeing. Breakfast: Average, nothing special. Price: Comparably high. Customer focus: NOT given. For our weekend Trip to Lisbon, we were searching for a nice hotel near the city center - and found Mouraria Hotel. The staff was friendly. The room we got was smaller than expected, but had a modern style and was clean. Already when going to bed the first night, we were switching off the AC in order to avoid noise. Yet, in the middle of the night, there was a loud noise which was obviously caused by the (switched off) AC. It was so loud that we were not able to sleep - even with ear plugs! It was about the amplitude of a washing machine’s spin cycle mode. The next morning, I complained about my experience. The friendly receptionist could not offer us an alternative room, we could stay for the three remaining nights continuously. So we stayed in our room and hoped for the best - knowing that a mechanic tried to fix the AC during the day. Turns out: We had a very bad second night. After that second bad night, we moved to an other room, where we had two quiet and relaxing nights. During check-out I asked the receptionist for a refund - at least for the first night. Having talked to the hotel director she confirmed that there will be NO refund. That really shocked me!!! Service failures can always occur, but it is crucial how you deal with it. In this case it felt like it was my personal problem as a hotel guest - not the problem of the hotel. I would not stay in the hotel again nor recommend it to friends or family.

This “hotel” is a NIGHTMARE! I picked the WORST hotel. You can barely fit two people in their “rooms.” The rooms have NO closet. This is a VERY ordinary “hotel.” No class whatsoever! I am EXTREMELY disappointed! We just got here and we are so READY to leave and they know this because their policy is to charge you for your whole stay in FULL at check in time. Do NOT book this hotel you will REGRET it. They simply are NOT worth what they charge! This is a RIP off! And on top of everything the area is wry sketchy. this place is DANGEROUS, We barely even stayed 3 hours. The front desk staff is not courteous or helpful.

The hotel is very well located in a quiet area, very close to transport, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel is new and clean. The room was very compact though, just about the space to walk around the bed. Staff were nice. Breakfast was good, eggs, bacon,baked beans, cheeses and cold meats, pastries and bread, fruit, juices,coffee and tea.
